Work Experience

Austin American-Statesman (2021-Present) Director of Photography for one of the largest daily newspapers in the state. Responsible for laying out daily print photos, organizing photo staff as a liaison between photographers and reporters for enterprise and daily stories. Assigning daily photo and video assignments. Leading photo and multimedia for enterprise and investigative projects. Maintaining photos for online stories and the landing page and curating stories for online presentation.

El Paso Times (April 2019 – Dec 2021) Chief Photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Photographed daily assignments including immigration and border related stories. Responsible for news, sports, feature and breaking news photo coverage and video production. Other responsibilities include managing the photo desk and planning for enterprise and daily assignments. Coverage area includes El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Argus Leader (July 2017- April 2019) Photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Photographed daily assignments and produced video. In-depth coverage included investigative journalism on indigenous issues. Additional responsibilities include training new photographers, organized weekly and monthly schedules. Managed photo/ video gear needs and purchases.

West Central Tribune (July 2016 – July 2017) Photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Reconstructed the workflow in a newsroom that did not have a full-time photojournalist. Started the WCT Sports Show, a bi-weekly video production. Organized photo budget for next day’s print and for online. Photographed daily assignments.

Fergus Falls Daily Journal (Nov 2015 – June 2016) Photographer/ videographer for small daily. Photographed daily assignments and created weekly videos for stories. In addition, filed legal notices, proofed the paper each day, designed page 2 daily, placed obituaries and birth notices.
