Work Experience

El Paso Times (April 2019 – Present) Photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Photographed daily assignments and produced video. Population: 800,000. Coverage area includes El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Responsible for news, sports, feature, portraits and breaking news photo coverage. Other responsibilities include having a social media presence on twitter and posting to El Paso Times Instagram account.

Argus Leader (July 2017- April 2019) Chief photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Managed a staff of two photographers. Photographed daily assignments and produced video. Additional responsibilities include training new photographers, organized weekly and monthly schedules. Managed photo/ video gear needs and purchases. Population: 175,000. Coverage area includes the entire state of South Dakota.

West Central Tribune (July 2016 – July 2017) Chief photographer/ videographer for daily newspaper. Reconstructed the workflow in a newsroom that did not have a full-time photojournalist. Started the WCT Sports Show, a bi-weekly video production. Organized photo budget for next day’s print and for online. Population: 20,000. Coverage area includes nine different counties that include roughly 70 different towns.

Fergus Falls Daily Journal (Nov 2015 – June 2016) Chief photographer for small daily. Photographed daily assignments and created weekly videos for stories. Population: 14,000. In addition, filed legal notices, proofed the paper each day, designed page 2 daily, placed obituaries and birth notices.

Undergraduate Work

St. Cloud Times (June 2015- Oct 2015) Area photo coverage daily shooting a variety of different assignments including news, feature, and sports. Worked with a photo desk of 3 other staff photographers to cover daily news. Video went hand in hand with photo if the story allowed for video coverage.

Video Editor Daily Wildcat (Jan 2015-May 2015) Hired and managed a desk of 5 people. Assigned video assignments to staff and worked with the online desk to get content up in a timely manner.

Photography Apprentice Arizona Daily Star (Aug 2014- Dec 2014) Photographed event assignments and assisted staff photographers with their assignments.

Student Worker University of Arizona Library: Special Collections (Jan 2014- May 2015) Assisted customers find specific material, handle fragile literature, and help with office work. Archived historical, old and fragile documents, books and photographs.

Photography Intern Arizona Athletics (June 2013-May 2014) Contributed photos to Getty Images, NCAA and the PAC-13 network. Signed up for 3-5 events weekly, set up and break down the studio, tested lighting and assisted with post editing for poster shoots.

Photography Intern Tucson Weekly (May 2013- Aug 2013) Picked up assignments daily, edited and wrote captions, and worked with the editor to cover all content weekly. Became familiarized with food photography. Contributed food photos for Chow review.

Visuals Photo Editor Daily Wildcat (March 2013-Aug 2013) Hired and managed a desk of seven people. Assigned photo assignments to staff and organized photo content nightly for the next day’s print stories.

General Staff Photographer District Newspaper, Savannah, GA (Sept 2011- June 2012) Took photos for the quarterly paper and covered sporting events since the newspaper did not have a sports photographer as the time.
